Practical Travel Information

The best airport to fly into is the Torino Caselle Airport - “Turin Airport”  Follow this link from the Valle d’Aosta tourism bureau.

The easiest, least expensive option is arriving in the morning and taking the shuttle bus from the Turin airport to the Aosta bus station, which is located in the middle of Aosta.  You can find the bus information in the link above, but here is the current information as provided by Annie:

Monday – Friday buses leave Turin at 9:30 a.m. and 10:15 p.m.  On Saturday and Sunday the times of departure are 10:45 a.m. and 10:15 p.m. The trip takes about an hour and cost 7 euros (about $15), price subject to change.

If you are not renting a car – which you will not need during the actual tour dates – but want a private service to drive you from the airport, you can hire one at a cost of around 115 euros (very expensive), but here is the Turin Airport Private Driver service link.

You can also fly into Milan (MXP) or Geneva (GVA).  Milan is about 2 1/2 hours away by car and Geneva is about 2 hours.  There is no shuttle from either airport to Aosta and if you rent a car in Switzerland, it will have to be returned in Switzerland.  It cannot be returned in Italy.

Depending on arrivals, Annie and I may be able to arrange pick-up in T0rino with one of the vans we rent, those details will shape up as the trips draws closer.
